Effective Date 2006-08-27

This notice addresses two upcoming changes that impact CME’s Eurozone HICP and Housing Futures contracts, as follows:

Spread Type Change for CME Eurozone HICP Futures

On Sunday, August 27, 2006 (trade date Monday, August 28, 2006) the Spread Type value for CME Eurozone HICP futures calendar spreads will change to “SP” from “EC” for both RLC and ITC 2.1 customers in both the CME certification and production environments,    This change is being made to support the upcoming implied functionality implementation described above.

The Spread Type field is found in the Instrument Creation (MO (m-oh)) message in positions 727 – 728.  Its purpose is to provide an easy way to determine the spread type and associated listing conventions for CME-listed futures and options spreads.

Implied Spread Functionality for CME HICP and Housing Futures

Effective Sunday, September 10, 2006 (trade date Monday, September 11, 2006), CME will implement implied spread functionality for all CME Eurozone HICP and CME Housing futures on CME® Globex®.

The MO (m-oh) message, (Position 777)   also known as the Instrument Creation message, indicates whether a product will return legs and create implied orders..

The implied spread functionality will be available for distributor testing in the CME certification environment for both the CME Eurozone HICP and CME Housing futures and futures spreads on Sunday, August 27, 2006.
